Rashid Khan has emerged as the world’s top T20I bowler.

To have two Afghan bowlers on the podium, Fazalhaq Farooqi advances to the No. 3 position.

The world’s top T20I bowler as of right now is Rashid Khan. He has knocked Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka off the top spot after taking three wickets at a cost of less than a run per ball during Afghanistan’s historic 2-1 series victory against Pakistan in Sharjah.

Alongside Rashid on the podium is his teammate Fazalhaq Farooqi, a youthful pacer who ranks third among T20I bowlers after leading Afghanistan in wicket-taking during the Pakistan series. Farooqi moved up 12 spots in the rankings by taking five wickets and giving up just 4.75 runs per over in the three games.


As late as November of last year, Rashid held the top spot. Since first ascending to the top in February of 2018, he has continuously been among the best in the format.

Afghanistan’s first Twenty20 International Series victory over Pakistan ended in a 2-1 score. Mujeeb Ur Rahman, a bowler, improved as well, moving up from No. 10 to No. 8 after collecting two wickets in the opening and third games.

Standing in for the rested Babar Azam, Pakistan’s stand-in captain Shadab Khan rose eight places to No. 4 in the T20I all-rounder rankings after concluding the series as the third-highest run scorer and joint-fourth-highest wicket-taker.

South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw rose two spots to No. 6 in the T20I batting rankings thanks to his 42 off 21 against the West Indies in the third T20I in Johannesburg that decided the series.

Adam Zampa and Rohit Sharma rise in the ODI rankings.

Legspinner Adam Zampa has risen to a career-best sixth in the one-day bowling rankings following Australia’s ODI series-winning victory over India in Chennai. Meanwhile, India skipper Rohit Sharma has moved up one spot to eighth in the batting rankings. In that match, which Australia won by 21 runs to seal the series 2-1, Zampa had posted statistics of 10-0-45-4, while Rohit had ignited his momentum with a slam of 30 off 17.

Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe made a slow but steady progress this week in the all-rounder rankings, moving up one spot to fifth following his country’s valiant series victory over the Netherlands, in which he top-scored with forty runs and claimed five wickets for his side.
