Following their game at Ekana, Pooran told the LSG and PBKS players about the incident.
Star West Indian batsman Nicholas Pooran posted a video of himself enjoying the well-known Dal Bati Churma meal in Rajasthan during the 2023 Indian Premier League on Instagram. He was joined to the restaurant by celebrities like Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi, and their amusing banter during the meal went viral on social media.
Pooran revealed a year later that people all around the world had begun referring to him by the dish’s name. The 28-year-old said that when his followers phoned and he ignored them, they began referring to him as “Dal Bhati,” at which point he started laughing. Following the game between the Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings at Ekana Stadium, the stumper-batter related the event.

He laughed and said, “Everywhere I go, people will say, ‘Nikki P, Nikki P.’ I’ll ignore them, and then they’ll say, ‘Dal Bhati,’ and then I’ll just start laughing.”
Pooran was named captain while KL Rahul was playing as an Impact Sub against Punjab. LSG won for the first time this season under his direction, defeating Punjab by a margin of 21 runs. Quinton de Kock, a South Africa international, provided the squad a fantastic start when he batted first, scoring 54 runs off of 38 deliveries. Pooran and Krunal Pandya took over after he was removed, scoring 42 and 43* runs, respectively. Thanks to their outstanding hitting, LSG scored 199 runs in the opening half.
Shikhar Dhawan and Jonny Bairstow gave PBKS a strong start in the chase, but neither of them was able to capitalise. In the middle overs, wickets tumbled like a house of cards, and the visitors eventually lost command of the game. The team’s best portion of the second innings was their opening partnership of 102 runs, but the middle-order hitters’ dismal hitting display will disappoint them.
