For the crucial match, RCB and LSG each made one alteration to their starting lineups.
At M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will square off in Match 15 of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). After the RCB team lost their previous match at the location against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), captain Faf du Plessis of the team won the toss and decided to bowl first. One alteration was made to the starting lineup by both teams: Reece Topley replaced Alzarri Joseph for RCB.
The right-arm speedster has notably leaked runs at an economy of 11.89 in the first three games of the season, making his performance unmemorable. So far this season, Joseph has bowled 9.4 overs and given up 115 runs while taking only one wicket.

Reece Topley, a left-arm player who appeared in just one game for the RCB prior to being sidelined by injury, has taken his spot. However, Mohsin Khan, a left-arm seamer in the LSG, was ruled out because of a bad back. In the current season, the 25-year-old has taken three wickets at an average of 26.33 and given up runs at a 9.87 economy rate.
In the preceding match, Khan amassed 2/34 against Punjab Kings (PBKS), taking wickets of Sam Curran and Shikhar Dhawan. Right-arm seamer Yash Thakur, who conceded 43 runs in three overs during the season’s first match against the Rajasthan Royals, will take his position.
RCB has dropped two of their last three games
With one four-fer to his credit, Thakur has taken 13 wickets from 10 games in the IPL at an average of 25.54 and an economy of 9.53. Notably, Lucknow started the season with a 20-run loss to Rajasthan Royals but pulled off a spectacular comeback to defeat Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 21 runs in their subsequent match.

However, RCB’s season also started with a six-wicket loss to its southern rivals, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), but they bounced back to defeat Punjab Kings by the same margin in their subsequent match. But after losing badly to Kolkata Knight Riders by seven wickets in the previous match, their progress was derailed once more. The team captained by Faf du Plessis will thus be eager to win the next game and get back to their winning ways.
