A fantastic half-century was made by Angrish Raghuvanshi in his first IPL innings.
On Wednesday, April 3, in Visakhapatnam, during Match 16 of the IPL 2024, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) put on an incredible batting show against Delhi Capitals (DC), posting the second-highest total in the tournament’s history. The two-time winners, led by some incredible strikes from Sunil Narine (85 off 39), Angkrish Raghuvanshi (54 off 27), and Andre Russell (41 off 19), amassed a massive score of 272/7 in their allocated 20 overs.
Raghuvanshi also stole the show among the two KKR stars, striking a half century in his first IPL innings. During his innings, the eighteen-year-old smacked three sixes and five fours. In one instance, he stunned everyone by using a switch-hit to direct a widish delivery over third man for a maximum.

The event happened after Rasikh Salam produced a good-length delivery that was well outside the off stump on the fourth ball of the fifth over. After switching sides to hit it as a left-hander, Raghuvanshi assisted it in scoring six runs beyond the third-man boundary.

With Sunil Narine, the youthful player shared a remarkable 104 runs for the second wicket in just 48 balls. The pair set up KKR for a massive score by helping them cross 160 runs in 12 overs. After ultimately being removed for 54 off 27 in the fifteenth over, Raghuvanshi received thunderous ovation from even KKR owner Shahrukh Khan as he made his way back to the pavilion.
Rinku Singh and Andre Russell provided the ideal conclusion to KKR’s innings.
After being dismissed, Andre Russell entered the field ahead of his captain Shreyas Iyer and quickly reached 41 off only 18 balls, displaying his incredible physical strength by hitting four fours and three sixes. Russell was removed in the last over by Ishant Sharma (2/43, 3 overs), which prevented KKR from beating Sunrisers Hyderabad’s record of 277 in the Indian Premier League.

Rinku Singh also had a brief appearance, scoring 26 (8) with three sixes and one four. Anrich Nortje was the standout bowler for Delhi, registering figures of 3/49 in four overs.
