The Mumbai Indians won their first game of the season, defeating the Delhi Capitals by a score of 29 runs.
After losing their previous three games, the Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated the Delhi Capitals (DC) by a score of 29 runs on Sunday, April 7, at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, to finally gain their first two points in the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024). After being placed to bat first, MI amassed a massive 234/5 thanks to strong batting performances from Tim David (45* off 21), Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan (42 off 23), Hardik Pandya (39 off 33), and Romario Shepherd (39* off 10).
With stats of 2/35 in four overs, Axar Patel was the most impressive bowler from DC. As a result of starter David Warner (10 off 8) being cheaply removed, DC had a difficult start. Even though Prithvi Shaw (66 off 40) and Tristan Stubbs gave it their all to keep their side in the match, they were unable to reach the objective, ultimately finishing at 205/8 in the 20 overs that were given to them.
