With the match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) officially began its third week. The top two teams in the points chart after the second week were the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), each with three victories.

1 : Sunil Narine

In his batting debut against the Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Sunil Narine of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) looked outstanding. Kolkata was chasing 183 in the match against RCB at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, and Narine and Phil Salt, his opening partner, gave the team a great start.

With just 39 balls, the West Indies veteran and his English companion pieced up an opening partnership of 86 runs. He returned to the pavilion after making a quick 47 off of 22, but his big blow helped KKR win by seven wickets in the end.

3 : Williamson Kane

At the storied Narendra Modi Stadium, Kane Williamson took on PBKS in his first competition match. He batted three and scored 26 runs in an innings on just 22 deliveries. Four fours were included in his quick knock.

4 : David Miller

At the Narendra Modi Stadium, David Miller was outstanding with the bat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). He contributed an undefeated 44-run knock off just 27 balls with six boundaries (four fours and two maximums) in his team’s seven-wicket victory.

5 : Nicholas Pooran

In the second week, Nicholas Pooran had a remarkable appearance. His quick 42 runs off 21 balls helped LSG score 199 runs against PBKS. At the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, the 28-year-old maintained his outstanding form by hitting an undefeated 40 runs off of just 21 deliveries against the Challengers.

6 : Tristan Stubbs

When DC was chasing a massive 273 target in their next match against KKR, Tristan Stubbs showed his tenacity after being eliminated on a golden duck against CSK. He faced just 32 deliveries and amassed 54 runs, including eight boundaries. His fifty and Rishabh Pant’s fifty-run knock propelled the Capitals to 166 and narrow the deficit.

7 : Andre Russell

So far, Andre Russell has performed admirably for KKR as an all-around player. Speaking about his performance in the second week, he contributed 2/29 figures when he had the ball against RCB during his team’s lopsided victory. Russell appeared fierce with the bat in Kolkata’s next match against DC, scoring 41 runs off just 19 balls with seven boundaries (four fours and three maximums).

8 : Pat Cummins (C)

While defending just 162 runs, SRH captain Pat Cummins shown confidence with the ball despite the team’s failure to win their single matchup against the Titans in the second week. During his four-over innings, the speedster conceded just 28 runs. Sai Sudharsan, who scored 45 from just 36, was also eliminated by him.

9 : Naveen-ul-Haq
