After conferring with spinner Akash Madhwal, Rohit Sharma was observed preparing the field as Hardik Pandya offered advice.

During the final over of the exciting match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI), former captain Rohit Sharma took command of setting the field for his team and appeared to ignore captain Hardik Pandya. The former captain of the Mumbai Indians appeared to be powerless as the five-time IPL winners were on the approach of losing a match that they had dominated for the most of.

At the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, the Kings were struggling at 14/4 in the second over as they attempted to chase a 193-run mark. Despite their consistent wicket losses, they had hope for a stunning victory thanks to Ashutosh Sharma’s counterattacking 61 off 28 balls. With one wicket remaining, the hosts needed to win by 12 runs in the last over. It was left to Akash Madhwal to lead Mumbai to victory.

Madhwal was wicketless after giving up 44 runs in his first three overs of bowling before taking the last stanza. Hardik could have passed the ball to Romario Shepherd, but he trusted Madhwal to see it through. In an attempt to establish the proper field, the Baroda all-rounder and the gifted bowler engaged in a lengthy conversation. Rohit hurried to speak with the captain and the bowler after it appeared that he didn’t like the field placements.
