“I hold Rohit Sharma in very high regard & am a big fan of his,” Zinta remarked.
Following his removal as the Mumbai Indians captain, Rohit Sharma has been the talk of the town. Prior to the 2024 Indian Premier League, Hardik Pandya was announced as the team’s new captain. Social media fan sites were thus ablaze with rumors that Sharma was going to be the captain of other teams.
Numerous rumors were dubious, but some pages included fictitious quotes from well-known people. One such instance is the circulation of false information about Preity Zinta, the owner of the Punjab Kings. According to one account, Zinta would do whatever it took to get Sharma to captain her side. She suppressed the erroneous information that was circulating on social media.
“Misinformation! These articles are all utterly fraudulent and without merit. Though I am a huge admirer of Rohit Sharma and have great respect for him, I have never discussed him in an interview or made this statement! In her “X” post, Zinta stated, “I also have a lot of respect for Shikhar Dhawan, and the fact that he is currently injured makes these articles appear in very poor taste.”

These stories are an excellent illustration of how false information gets taken up online and spread without any kind of confirmation. I respectfully ask that the media not spread this and shame the persons involved. All I want to say is that we presently have a fantastic team, and winning games and making the most of #PL2024 are our main priorities. I’m grateful, she continued.

Pandya battling back against criticism
Following the announcement of Hardik Pandya as the new captain, there has been a tremendous outcry among the supporters of the former MI captain. At Wankhede Stadium, Pandya was jeered by the crowd, and signs criticizing him were held up. In the 2024 Indian Premier League, the all-rounder is going through a slump at bat. His strike rate has sparked questions about his methodology and made MI’s problems worse.
