Sourav Ganguly, the director of cricket for the Delhi Capitals (DC), has expressed concerns about the unfair matchup between bat and ball in the current Indian Premier League (IPL).
Sourav Ganguly, the director of cricket for the Delhi Capitals (DC) and a former captain of India, has expressed concerns about the unfair competition between bat and ball in the current IPL season. Massive totals have become the norm, and bowlers have been nearly completely ineffective due to flat pitches and new rules that favor batters.
This year’s IPL has been a run fest, with some teams easily surpassing the 200-run threshold. Bowlers have been hammered all over the field as a result of batters’ strong hitting and batter-friendly tracks. The situation has been exacerbated by the introduction of the ‘Impact Player’ rule, which permits the substitution of an extra batter.
Ganguly stressed the necessity of regaining some parity, “The bowlers find it difficult. Ganguly stated at the pre-match press conference, “They are being carted all over and that’s one area that needs to be looked at in the future, the balance between bat and ball,” as reported by India Today.

Despite scoring 400 runs, they have also given up 400: Ganguly Sourav
The renowned opener gave examples of the problems facing bowlers, such as SunRisers Hyderabad’s 125 runs scored in the powerplay and Travis Head’s 89 off 32 balls.”We have scored 400 runs while giving up 400, demonstrating the strength of our batting attack. This is an extremely terrific batting-friendly pitch, said Ganguly.
The renowned Sunil Gavaskar has previously called for wider boundaries, so the former batter is not the only person who has voiced concerns about the bowlers.
The next match between DC and the Mumbai Indians (MI) is scheduled for April 27 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Ganguly has also confirmed that quick bowler Ishant Sharma and star batter David Warner will not be available for the match.
