“Hardik Pandya’s power is diminishing. In the grand scheme of things, that’s a major concern, tweeted Irfan Pathan.
The Mumbai Indians, lead by Hardik Pandya, are having a disappointing Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) season. In their most recent match, the five-time champions faced the Rajasthan Royals. On Monday, April 22, both teams faced off at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Mumbai Indians won the match with a first-inning total of 179 runs, while Rajasthan Royals won their eighth game of the year thanks to a century from Yashasvi Jaiswal and an outstanding batting display by the hosts.
Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, suffered yet another disappointing IPL day. The 30-year-old bowled two overs in the match, giving up 21 runs in his two overs bowled and failing to claim any wickets. He scored 10 runs in about the same number of deliveries. Irfan Pathan, a former Indian cricket player, used X to consider Pandya’s most recent outings. Pathan felt that Pandya’s bat-swinging talent has been declining.
“Hardik Pandya’s power is diminishing. On a bigger scale, that is a major concern. He is different at the Wankhede, but what worries him are pitches with minimal assistance, Pathan tweeted.
Hardik Pandya’s hitting ability is going down. That’s a big worry on a larger picture. At the wankhede he is different but on pitches where there is little help is what is worrisome for him.

For the Mumbai Indians, playoff qualifying is unlikely.
Mumbai Indians, who have three victories in eight games, are now ranked seventh in the IPL 2024 rankings following their nine-wicket loss to Rajasthan Royals. With five losses, MI is presently behind teams like the Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Lucknow Super Giants, among others.

With six points from eight games, the Hardik Pandya-led team will need to win each and every game from now on if they are to advance to the tournament’s knockout stages. Conversely, the Rajasthan Royals continued to rule the competition. The Royals lead the points table with 14 points after winning seven of their last eight games.
