MI skipper Hardik Pandya

IPL 2024: A video of MI captain Hardik Pandya praying at the Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple gets viral

The Mumbai-based team in the present IPL 2024 has dropped its last three games under Pandya’s direction.

The Mumbai Indians, a five-time winning team, are not new to this, despite their lacklustre start to the IPL 2024 season. The team has a new captain in Hardik Pandya, who took over from Rohit Sharma, who led the team for nearly 10 seasons beginning in 2013. With the exception of 2020, all five of the Mumbai-based team’s championship seasons occurred under Rohit’s leadership.

MI is well-known for having a sluggish beginning in practically every season of the lucrative competition, and they frequently make it to the last four. The Hardik & Co. started this edition similarly, losing all three of their confrontations that have been covered in the seventeenth edition so far. However, the captain has chosen a religious path to reverse the situation in an effort to turn the franchise’s fortunes around.

An image of the MI captain praying at the Shree Somnath Jyotirlinga Temple in Somnath, Gujarat, has been making the rounds on social media. Notably, following their defeat at home against the Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium, the entire team was last spotted enjoying a getaway in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Hardik made the decision to travel to the sacred Hindu pilgrimage site, which is around five hours’ journey from Jamnagar

MI will next play the Delhi Capitals.

Following a disappointing start to the 2024 season, the defending champions will square off against the Delhi Capitals (DC) in an afternoon match at Wankhede on Sunday, April 7. For Mumbai, this will be their fourth league stage match of the season; for Rishabh Pant’s Capitals, it will be their fifth.

Both teams will be itching to win; MI has every incentive to return to winning ways, and Pant’s team wants to get over their 106-run setback to KKR.
