IPL2024: Match 48 highlights of the Mumbai Indians’ first innings against the Lucknow Super Giants

At the Ekana Sports City Stadium in Lucknow, the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are squarely competing in Match 48 of the 2024 Indian Premier League. LSG currently occupy the fifth spot in the IPL 2024 points standings. Conversely, MI, who are ranked ninth, appear to be desperate to win.

KL Rahul, the captain of the LSG, won the toss and decided to bowl against the Mumbai Indians at their stadium. The Ekana Cricket Stadium’s batting surfaces seem to be better this year than they were previously. This year’s average first innings score has topped 170+, up from 161 overall for the two seasons prior, including this one. Nine times out of 10, the total has above 150, and seven of those nine times have witnessed totals of 170 or more.

Mohsin Khan of LSG got rid of the Hitman, Rohit Sharma, in just four runs. Regretfully, the birthday boy was unable to display his class against LSG after hitting a four, as Khan dismissed him with MI behind by just eight runs after two overs. Marcus Stoinis made a wonderful grab at the short extra cover after he drove.

Overs (0.1 to 6) for powerplay MI 28/4


MI lost four important wickets too early in the powerplay overs, making it tough for them to muster a respectable run rate. In the first six overs of the game, they were only able to score 28 runs. Naveen-ul-Haq of LSG defeated the captain of MI. Ravi Bishnoi’s throw helped MI skipper Hardik run out while he was arguing for LBW. Pandya received a golden duck, but he was forced to walk back to the pavilion.

Mumbai Indians in 15 overs with 96/5


With grace In their encounter against the Lucknow Super Giants, Nehal Wadhera, MI managed to hit 96 despite losing early wickets. In Mayank Yadav’s over, Nehal Wadhera, the top bowler for LSG, struck some boundaries. Nehal Wadhera’s 46-run innings left everyone impressed, but Mohsin Khan of LSG sent him back to the pavilion in his over.

At the end of the 20 overs, MI scored 144/7.


Mayank Yadav, the top bowler for the Lucknow Super Giants, destroyed Nabi with the first ball of his final over following his return. After the allotted 20 overs against the Giants, MI had reached 144 runs thanks to Tim David’s innings of 35* runs off just 18 balls. MI was helped by his doubles to set a target of 145 runs for LSG. Tim David and Gerald Coetzee were on the Mumbai Indians’ crease at the end of the innings.
