30 percent match

IPL2024: Sanju Samson’s code of conduct violation resulted in a 30% match fee fine.

In accordance with Article 2.8 of the IPL Code of Conduct, Samson committed a Level 1 infraction.

For violating the IPL Code of Conduct during Match 56 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on May 07, 2024, Mr. Sanju Samson, captain of the Rajasthan Royals, has been fined thirty percent of his match costs.

In accordance with Article 2.8 of the IPL Code of Conduct, Samson committed a Level 1 infraction. He acknowledged the wrongdoing and consented to the Match Referee’s punishment. The decision made by the Match Referee is final and enforceable for Level 1 violations of the Code of Conduct.

Rajasthan and Delhi squared off in the 56th match of the 2024 Indian Premier League, with Rajasthan losing by a margin of 20 runs. The Royals’ top order failed to contribute after behind 221 runs, placing all the responsibility on Sanju Samson and the remainder of the team. In an attempt to reach a large score, Sanju gave it his all, scoring 86 off 46, but he was controversially dismissed. Following the captain’s dismissal, RR lost the Delhi match and went downhill.

“I think we had it within reach; we were just needing about 11 or 12 runs an over, but these things sometimes happen in the IPL. Yes, we are doing both things well. We would like to adhere to the circumstances, which call for 220 runs to be chased; had we given up a few fewer boundaries, we would have been able to win. Despite Fraser McGurk, the DC opener, doing as he has throughout the tournament, we managed to recover very comfortably. We have dropped three games, but they have all been quite close; we have been playing incredibly well. We need to keep up the momentum and make some adjustments in order to win back the games.

Yes and no. Actually, you have to give credit to someone like Stubbs, who batted brilliantly against Sandeep and bowled exceptionally well in the previous ten to eleven games. He scored an extra two to three sixes against my two greatest bowlers, Sandeep Sharma and Yuzi Chahal. After the game, Samson remarked, “We have lost the game. We need to figure out where we lost the game and we need to keep going.
