MI won by seven wickets against SRH.
At Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai witnessed a Suryakumar Yadav performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Despite struggling with his ailment, the explosive batsman persevered and helped the Mumbai Indians win. Suryakumar kept his cool and performed well to help Mumbai win the match by seven wickets against a team that was controlling everyone with the ball.
Hyderabad’s Surners had some difficulty when they batted first. Travis Head has twice managed to survive. Anshul Kombaj, making his debut, rattled the stumps first, but it was a no-ball, and then he dropped a sitter. Abhishek Sharma was unable to cause any harm in the interim. But Head persisted, scoring 48 runs off of 30 deliveries with very little assistance from the other players. They scored 173 runs in the first innings thanks to a spectacular 35* run and 17 delivery performance by captain Pat Cummins towards the conclusion of the game.

Mumbai started the chase off well, but the most of their runs came from extras. They were out of position and losing three wickets in quick succession. Mumbai seemed to be creeping closer to yet another loss until Suryakumar came into the game and hit an incredible century. In the centre, Tilak Varma provided him with excellent support, which made Mumbai’s pursuit simpler.
Suryakumar Yadav’s Mumbai ka Raja
In fact, Suryakumar played against Hyderabad like a king. With 16 balls left, Mumbai won the match because to his 102* runs off 51 balls, smashing the bowlers all around the park. He going back to hitting for runs is a huge bonus for Mumbai and the national team. Despite an injury sustained during the pursuit, he continued to attack and ultimately won it for Mumbai.
Chawla is still capable
Jasprit Bumrah is always mentioned when discussing Mumbai’s bowling attack, and for good reason. However, Piyush Chawla was outstanding against Hyderabad and ought to get much more credit. The seasoned spinner shredded SRH’s backbone with three vital wickets: Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Abdul Samad. He played a crucial role in MI’s decisive win over SRH.
When their openers don’t perform well, SRH has had trouble at the plate. The management must take immediate action in that regard. Their lack of form with Klaasen is not helping them, and they should be excited about adding Glenn Phillips to the team in favour of Marco Jansen. Umran Malik can be used as a ball player, and Phillips can also contribute a few overs.
Captain Pat Cummins, who is out, said:
Probably a couple short, at the Wankhede you want as many as you can get. You always feel like you’re in, the wicket had a little bit in it so we were definitely in the game. I think Sanvir helped us get to that 170 instead of 150, ideally we’d have a bowler. It’s T20 cricket, and it doesn’t always work out. SKY played really well. We like playing at home, we’ll wait and see what’s ahead of us. Hopefully a few more fireworks.
Hardik Pandya, the winning captain, stated:
We want to focus on playing good cricket, still think we gave 10-15 runs extra. The way the batters batter, that was excellent. My bowling, I like to bowl in the right areas, I bowl according to the situation. Bowled in the right areas today and it worked. I was like Chawla had to bowl from the shorter side. You got to be accurate, the margin of errors have become smaller these days for the bowlers. It’s unbelievable, the best past of SKY is that he puts the bowlers under pressure. It’s sheer confidence, his game has changed, is one of the best batters. He can change a game in a different way, lucky to have him (SKY) in our side.
Suryakumar Yadav, POTM, stated:
I have done this after a long time. I fielded for 20 overs and batted for 18 overs, only tired (nothing else to worry about.) I feel it was the need of the hour for me. I went out to bat, needed someone to bat till the end. I just enjoyed my time. It’s from the Mumbai school of arts, have played a lot of cricket at Wankhede. When the ball stopped seaming, I played all my shots that I practice in the nets. I feel the intent would have been the same, I would have definitely played in the same pattern.
