Suresh Raina and RP Singh commented on the rumors that MS Dhoni might play in the IPL after 2024.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 is steadily approaching its midway point, and spectators have already seen some thrilling action. The legendary MS Dhoni has shown up to play in his 17th IPL season, and so far, he has been putting up some excellent shows for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) both at bat and in the gloves.
After having knee surgery the previous year, Dhoni’s participation in the 2024 Indian Premier League was under question. But he persevered admirably, returning to the field to play in what is likely to be his final season as a professional cricket player after reaching full fitness. The 42-year-old hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down, either, as he has turned back time with his unparalleled abilities behind the stumps and made some excellent cameos for CSK lower down the order. Fans have begun to question if the former captain of India will still be able to play beyond the 2024 Indian Premier League after such steady performances.
RP Singh and Suresh Raina, two of Dhoni’s former teammates from India, were questioned if they thought that IPL 2024 would be the legendary wicketkeeper-batter’s final game.
Former India player RP Singh observed, “It doesn’t seem like this will be his last season,” while providing commentary for JioCinema. Singh’s team won the 2007 T20 World Cup.
After this, Singh would turn to Raina and inquire what his thoughts on the matter. The southpaw, who was a key member of the Indian team that won the 2011 ODI World Cup, concurred with the former left-arm pacer and declared in a single statement that Dhoni will participate in the IPL the following year.
“Khelenge (Will play),” declared Raina, who played for the Men in Yellow for numerous years under Dhoni.
