Renegades sign Josh Brown

Josh Brown joins Renegades on a two-year contract

After big-hitting Josh Brown agreed to a two-year deal, the Melbourne Renegades made a statement. Given that Brown was instrumental in helping the Brisbane Heat win the championship earlier this year, the deal is a huge setback for the reigning champs.

When Brown hit a record-breaking 57 balls for 140 in the Challenger match against the Adelaide Strikers, he hit 12 sixes. This generated headlines. He excelled in the championship game as well, helping the Heat defeat the Sydney Sixers with a spectacular half-century. He just signed a deal to play in the Bangladesh Premier League as a result of his achievements.

General Manager of Queensland Cricket – Elite Teams, Performance & Pathways According to Joe Dawes, Brown finally rejected the “very competitive offer” that Brisbane Heat had presented to him.”We provided Josh and his management with a two-year contract offer that was very lucrative and a significant uplift,” he stated. “But even though we thought our offer was extremely competitive and more than fair, we recognize the allure of a multi-year commitment for him as a player.

“It is understandable that our supporters would be unhappy that Josh will not be playing for us moving forward, and as a team, we are undoubtedly upset to lose Josh. But he will always hold a particular position in the club’s history, and we are happy that the Heat gave him the chance to show off his abilities and use his skills to the fullest for the good of his family.”

The addition will also assist Renegades in covering the vacuum left by Shaun Marsh and Aaron Finch, who both recently retired as hitters. “I’ve enjoyed my time with the Heat, they gave me my opportunity, for which I’ll always be grateful and have cherished memories including winning a BBL Championship last season,” Brown stated. Still, I am eager to take on a new task and, perhaps, succeed in the same way as the Renegades. They are a talented young team with a lot of firepower, particularly in the batting group. I’m eager to collaborate with individuals like Will Sutherland and Jake Fraser-McGurk to see what we can accomplish.”
