Lalchand Rajput is named advisor to the MCA’s T20 league.
Lalchand Rajput has been named by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) as an advisor for the T20 Mumbai League. If there are no legal issues, the MCA intends to bring back its franchise-based T20 league in the form of the Indian Premier League. The league, which ran for two years, was canceled after 2019. On Saturday, the association’s highest council made the decision.
Rajeev Kuilkarni, a former pacer for India, was also named by the MCA to head its crucial Cricket Improvement Committee. According to an announcement from the association secretary Ajinkya Naik, the other members of the CIC are Sahil Kukreja and Preet Dimri. The advisors for the CIC will be Milind Rege for men’s cricket and Diana Edulji for women’s cricket.
BCB launches a long-term spin initiative.
An official from the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Saturday that 20 young wrist spinners had been selected for a long-term program.
Following a nationwide talent search, BCB Game Development had already chosen 80 wrist-spinners. On Saturday, May 4, the names of 20 players were finalized for the long-term program, which is anticipated to run for 20 weeks over the course of two years.
According to AEM Kawsar, the BCB’s game development manager, “we have selected five spinners for the fast track program as they were part of our Under-19 set while 15 spinners are selected for the development program who played in different age group tournaments,” Cricket sport was informed on Saturday.
Along with other game-development coaches, Pakistani leg spinner Shahed Mahmud, who participated in the talent hunt program, will mentor the 15 spinners. Meanwhile, BCB is seeking to bring in some overseas specialists for the fast track program.
“The program is scheduled to start this month and we will have three-week camps initially and later will have these kind of week-long camps in the coming one and half or two years,” said Kawsar.
