BCCI is accepting applications for the head coach vacancy for the men’s team.

The BCCI has now opened applications for the position of head coach of the men’s team. This was recently published by Cricket sport. June marks the end of the term for Rahul Dravid, the current occupant of that role.

“Rahul is only here till June. Thus, he is free to apply if that is what he wants to do,” the BCCI secretary stated. The newly chosen head coach will be consulted before the remaining support staff members are appointed.

Ireland will go to Pakistan for the first time in 2025.

Ireland has announced in a formal announcement that they will tour Pakistan in 2019 during the current trip, which is evenly balanced at 1-1 with one game remaining. They have never been on a tour to this Asian nation before. The format and timetable have not yet been made public.

“We had a wide range of conversations [with the PCB chairman], including potential future matchups at the men’s, women’s, and Wolves levels. Following the senior women’s tour to Pakistan in 2022, I’m delighted that we were able to reach an agreement for a men’s tour for the following year,” said Brian MacNeice, Chair of Cricket Ireland.

Season 3 of ILT20 will debut on January 11.

On January 11, 2025, International League T20’s third season will begin play.The final of the 34-match competition is scheduled on Sunday, February 9, 2025, and will take place after a month of play.

“We are happy to announce the DP World International League T20 Season 3 schedule. We have concluded the window following conversations with our stakeholders. With the goal of expanding and improving the league even more, we have started preparing for Season 3′, ILT20 CEO David White stated.

ZC permits Madhevere and Mavuta to go back.

Wesley Madhevere and Brandon Mavuta were given the all-clear by Zimbabwe cricket to resume playing competitive cricket after serving a four-month ban for drug use. After they tested positive for a recreational substance during an in-house doping test in December 2023, they were suspended at the beginning of the next year. A three-month penalties equal to 50% of the pair’s income was also imposed starting in January 2024.

“I am pleased to welcome Wessly and Brandon back to competitive cricket after both of them underwent rehabilitation and also passed a drug test carried out to check if they were now clean,” Givemore Makoni, ZC Managing Director, stated. “More importantly, the two players acknowledged their mistakes and have vowed to stay clean and focus on their very promising careers as cricketers.”

Lalchand Rajput is named advisor to the MCA’s T20 league.

Lalchand Rajput has been named by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) as an advisor for the T20 Mumbai League. If there are no legal issues, the MCA intends to bring back its franchise-based T20 league in the form of the Indian Premier League. The league, which ran for two years, was cancelled after 2019. On Saturday, the association’s highest council made the decision.

Rajeev Kuilkarni, a former pacer for India, was also named by the MCA to head its crucial Cricket Improvement Committee. According to an announcement from the association secretary Ajinkya Naik, the other members of the CIC are Sahil Kukreja and Preet Dimri. The advisors for the CIC will be Milind Rege for men’s cricket and Diana Edulji for women’s cricket.

BCB launches a long-term spin initiative.

An official from the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced on Saturday that 20 young wrist spinners had been selected for a long-term programme.

Following a nationwide talent search, BCB Game Development had already chosen 80 wrist-spinners. On Saturday, May 4, the names of 20 players were finalised for the long-term programme, which is anticipated to continue for 20 weeks over the course of two years.

According to AEM Kawsar, the BCB’s game development manager, “we have selected five spinners for the fast track programme as they were part of our Under-19 set while 15 spinners are selected for the development programme who played in different age group tournaments,” Cricket sport was informed on Saturday.

Along with other game-development coaches, Pakistani leg spinner Shahed Mahmud, who participated in the talent hunt programme, will mentor the 15 spinners. Meanwhile, BCB is seeking to bring in some overseas specialists for the fast track programme.

“The programme is scheduled to start this month and we will have three-week camps initially and later will have these kind of week-long camps in the coming one and half or two years,” said Kawsar.
