In a touching moment, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins resigned from the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Ravindra Jadeja to oppose the field appeal. The incident happened when Jadeja played a yorker back to the bowler on the fourth ball of Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s second-to-last over.

Pat Cummins, the captain of SRH, chose not to do so and disregarded the spirit of the game. The replays made it quite evident that the CSK batter was only trying to enter the crease when he was hit, not to get in the way of the throw. Fans praised Cummins for his thoughtful action as a consequence.
