Siraj takes back the top rank in the ODI bowling rankings.

removes Hazlewood from the top spot in the ICC rankings after his Asia Cup ten-wicket haul

Mohammed Siraj’s outstanding performance in the Asia Cup final against Sri Lanka on Sunday has propelled him back to the top of the world rankings for ODI bowlers. Having held the top spot from January to March 2023 when Josh Hazlewood dethroned him, this is Siraj’s second stint at the top of the leaderboard.

After taking ten wickets at an average of 12.20 at the Asia Cup, Siraj has risen eight spots to the top of the rankings. The 6 for 21 spell that destroyed Sri Lanka for 50 all out in the championship was the high point of that effort. Siraj described that stint as “like a dream” and said it featured a four-wicket over, which has only been accomplished three times in men’s ODI history.

Kuldeep Yadav, who averaged 11.44 while taking nine wickets during the Asia Cup, has fallen from sixth to ninth position. Keshav Maharaj jumps from 25th to 15th place after assisting South Africa in overcoming Australia 0–2 to win 3-2. Including 4 for 33 in the series finale, he claimed eight wickets at an average of 16.87 across the series.

Klaasen enters the top ten.

Heinrich Klaasen, a batsman for South Africa, scored an incredible 174 off 83 balls against Australia in the fourth One-Day International. As a result, he shot up to No. 9 in the ICC rankings for ODI hitters, moving up twenty spots. In the sense that no batsman had ever scored as many runs in an ODI innings at the strike rate of Klaasen’s (204) before, it was a record-breaking innings.

After leading the scoring in the home ODI series against New Zealand with 277 runs, Dawid Malan has advanced to a career-best 13th position in ODIs while playing in England. He is now the highest-ranked batter in England, averaging 92.33 with a strike rate of 105.72. Ben Stokes surged to the 36th position following his impressive 182 at the Oval. After the most recent update, Babar Azam, Shubman Gill, and Rassie Van der Dussen are still in the top three spots.
