help from RCB

“Special diet, help from RCB” is how Cameron Green manages his difficult chronic renal illness while pursuing his ambition of playing cricket.

The versatile player also strives to increase public knowledge of the illness.

All-around player Cameron Green of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has been playing well in the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season and giving it his all for the team despite suffering from an irreversible chronic kidney disease that requires him to adhere to a special diet and routine in order to play cricket.

With the assistance of the RCB Executive Chef, Cameron Green has been following a specific diet because there aren’t many food alternatives that are appropriate for those with these ailments. He showered the franchise with gratitude for keeping him in peak condition for the competition.

“I find it difficult at times, particularly in India.” Sometimes there aren’t many food alternatives available, and because of my condition, I have to watch what I eat. I have to watch how much protein and salt I eat around cricket, but I can slightly increase it while I play since I need it to play. I thus have to follow a somewhat stringent and hard diet in order to maintain my performance on the pitch. Cameron Green said at the news conference, “But I also have to consider the long-term health consequences if I don’t take care of myself.

He went on, “RCB people have been unbelievable in helping me, and I’m very willing to do it.” Through direct communication, I have established a customised diet with the cooks here and have asked them exactly what I require. Eating meals that are appropriate for me and have just the right amount of protein, which not only helps me play cricket and perform well on the pitch, but also doesn’t negatively impact me. I’ve had a wonderful experience thus far, and that also involves cutting back on salt. Love the franchise so much because they’re taking such good care of me. A wonderful few weeks have been spent in India.

I had a blast visiting the Kidney Foundation of Bangalore: Verdant
In order to promote his cause in the city, the all-round player recently visited the Bangalore renal Foundation. He also strives to raise awareness about chronic renal illness.

“I had the good fortune to visit the Kidney Foundation of Bangalore. I was quite satisfied with how they operated the resort and had a nice time there. I was fortunate to meet several of their patients, and they have an amazing team. Meeting a handful of them, getting to know them personally, and learning about some of their experiences was such a blast. Some of them, or perhaps all of them, are on a daily basis. Thus, that consumes a significant amount of their time. How do they do that, and then how do they make the most of their days off the dialysis machine? That was my question. The Australian continued, “I was really impressed by it and it was great to meet them and know how it all runs.”

“They’re attempting to test every child at specific public schools who might not have access to this, essentially finding out if they’ve got it, by going around to schools and conducting preventive work. Thus, what they’re doing is excellent. They are interacting with children at an early age, identifying any possible risks, and providing support. Every time they walk out there for everyone, they undoubtedly give people hope,” the footballer said.
