upcoming mega-event

“That door is now closed, even though I never wish to disappoint,” Sunil Narine says in a major update about the impending mega-event.

The USA and the West Indies will share hosting duties for the T20 World Cup 2024 in June of this year.

Sunil Narine ultimately made the decision to retire from international cricket, having not played for the West Indies since August 2019. He released an official statement in November of last year.

Speaking about the IPL this year, the West Indian all-rounder has been performing admirably for the Kolkata Knight Riders, amassing 286 runs at a scorching strike rate of 176.54 in 7 innings after scoring a half-century and a century each. He’s been rather successful with the ball as well, taking nine wickets at a frugal economy rate of 7.10 in seven innings.

After a strong start to the season, West Indian captain Rovmann Powell, who plays for the Rajasthan Royals, attempted to force Narine to reconsider his decision to retire and play for the country in the upcoming T20 World Cup, which the West Indies and the USA will co-host in June of this year.

On Monday, though, Narine posted on Instagram to say he had accepted his decision to end his career as an international cricket player.

Narine’s Instagram post’s first slide expressed his happiness and admiration for the large number of people who were touched by his recent cricketing exploits and expressed their desire for him to come out of retirement and participate in the next T20 World Cup.

On the other side, he wished for the West Indian squad to compete in the T20 World Cup 2024 and possibly bring home another championship for their supporters in the second slide. Additionally, he acknowledged that he would like to support the team from the sidelines because many of the players had given it their all over the previous few months and should have been a part of the structure.
