As 14 runs scored off the third over, RCB’s fortunes remained unchanged even after introducing Alzarri Joseph. Just 18 runs were scored in the two overs that followed when Sunil Narine chose to unleash mayhem. Yash Dayal conceded 21 runs in the final over of the powerplay, bringing the score to 85/0 after 6 overs. This is the best powerplay score so far in the 2024 Indian Premier League season.
2. Mumbai Indians vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad (81/1 odds)
On Wednesday, in the eighth match of the 2024 Indian Premier League season, the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad started the wild hitting. A fast fifty was scored by Australian sensation Travis Head in his debut for SRH. It was the second-best powerplay score in the first ten games of the 2024 IPL, with 81 overs scored in the first six overs.
Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head kept the celebration going after Mayank Agarwal was out for eleven. After Agarwal was out, the score was 45 runs for 1 wicket after 4.1 overs, but a partnership between Head and Sharma produced 36 runs off only 11 balls.
3. Sunrisers Hyderabad vs. Mumbai Indians, 76/2 Indian Premier League
Mumbai Indians needed a batting miracle to clinch the match, as they were chasing a very unlikely 278. To put the hosts under strain, the five-time IPL winners struck 76/2 from six overs. Among the first 10 games of the 2024 Indian Premier League, this is the third-highest powerplay score.
With two fours and four sixes, Ishan Kishan scored thirty-four runs off just thirteen balls. Former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma kept his team in the game with a 26-run performance off of only 12 balls, including three fours and a six.
4. The odds of 69/1 for the Chennai Super Kings vs. Gujarat Titans are:
Gujarat Titans traveled to Chennai for the rematch of the IPL 2023 final. In an effort to regain control of the match, the reigning champions chose to attack the Gujarat bowlers. The Titans bowling attack was demoralized as opener Rachin Ravindra and captain Ruturaj Gaikwad unleashed a barrage of smashes.
Rashid Khan, Umesh Yadav, and Azmatullah Omarzai were all dragged to the gutter. Surprising the visitors, CSK scored 205 runs off of just 6 overs, with a score of 69 not out. Among the top 10 powerplay scores in the first ten games of the 2024 IPL season, the onslaught ranks fourth.
5. Kolkata Knight Riders vs. Sunrisers Hyderabad (65/1 odds)
